Kevin Shea and Andy Egan assisted active-duty Air Force Airman Jayson Fox in the adoption process of his 12-year-old step-son, Elijah. Though they are New York natives, the entire Fox family lives in Germany, on Ramstein Air Base, where Jayson works in an Aircrew Flight Equipment group. To facilitate the adoption proceedings, Kevin and Andy filed a Petition for Adoption, on Jayson’s behalf, in the Nassau County Surrogate’s Court in NY. They also gathered and notarized all of the necessary forms, coordinated background checks and fingerprints, arranged a home visit with the Social Worker, and served as liaisons with the Court, all while working around the New York-Germany time difference. The team finalized the adoption on July 10, 2019, in front of the Hon. Margaret C. Reilly in a hearing attended by Andy Egan.
