Overview
David Schneider’s practice is devoted to environmental law and litigation. He offers clients over three decades of experience in the environmental area, beginning his career as a Deputy Attorney General in the New Jersey Division of Law, where he represented the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection in civil enforcement cases in both federal and state courts. He later served as in-house environmental counsel to a Fortune 50 manufacturer before entering private practice in 1987.
Dave represents clients ranging from small entrepreneurs to Fortune 50 manufacturers on a broad array of federal and state regulatory issues involving water, air and solid and hazardous waste. Dave has extensive experience in CERCLA/Superfund matters, litigating both government initiated and complex private party cost recovery actions on a national level, including currently at many of the largest sediment remediation sites in the region. His practice requires that he routinely work with environmental remediation professionals and technical experts in helping clients resolve responsibility for and allocation of environmental cleanup activities. He also represents clients against damage claims asserted by both state and federal natural resource trustees.
Dave’s practice also extends to assisting clients in obtaining insurance coverage for environmental and toxic tort liabilities, as well as advising on the environmental risks of business transactions, including projects taking advantage of Brownfields initiatives.
David served as a Judicial Clerk to The Honorable Samuel Allcorn, Presiding Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division.
