Speaking Engagement
Atlantic City, NJ
05.16.2019-05.18.2019
Bressler, Amery & Ross is a proud sponsor of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) 2018 Annual Meeting and Convention taking place May 16-18, 2018 at the Borgata Hotel, Atlantic City, NJ. Bressler attorneys Diana Manning, Emily Bordens and Logan Fisher will be speaking.
- On Wednesday, May 16, Emily Bordens will participate on the panel "What Every Lawyer Should Know about the Sexual Assault Survivor Protection Act." In May 2016, the Sexual Assault Survivor Protection Act (SASPA) went into effect, providing victims of sexual violence with a mechanism for obtaining a civil protective order, regardless of whether or not criminal charges are brought. SASPA is an underutilized tool available to assist victims of violence in securing their safety. This program will provide an introduction to SASPA, including its intent and scope, the structure of the Act, the relief available, and the practical implications of the relief.
- Diana Manning will be a moderator on the panel "Women's Leadership in the Law: Putting Words into Action" on Wednesday, May 16. The Inaugural Women's Leadership in the Law program in February brought together some of the brightest minds in the profession to discuss ways women can get ahead. Join us as we spotlight some of those strategies and some others, including developing a niche practice, getting recognized for what you do and changing the culture of your workplace. We will spotlight suggestions and offer strategies that will help you be a better law firm manager and a more powerful legal advocate.
- On Thursday, May 17, Logan Fisher will participate on the panel "Financial Fraud 2018 Update." Federal and state regulators and law enforcement will provide an update on recent events, discuss current issues, and provide a priority list. In addition, there will be a panel of New Jersey practitioners to discuss current issues and comment on the regulator/enforcement panel comments.
- On Thursday, May 17, Diana Manning will participate on the panel "Perspectives on Arbitration." This program will present viewpoints on arbitration from the different vantage points of counsel, expert and arbitrator. It will cover the process from the initial point of negotiating and drafting arbitration agreements, through discovery, hearing and decision.
