Principals Cynthia Borrelli and Loren Pierce presented “HealthCare Fraud:  Investigations and Litigations and the Connection Between the Two”

On September 15, 2023, Bressler Principals Cynthia Borrelli and Loren Pierce presented a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar to Horizon entitled, “HealthCare Fraud:  Investigations and Litigations and the Connection Between the Two.”  The program provided analysis on what constitutes HealthCare Fraud under the applicable statutes, Insurers’ and HMOs’ obligations with regard to insurance fraud, and State regulators’ investigations in the face of insurance fraud, including Market Conduct Examinations. The program also addressed market conduct exams outside the context of insurance fraud and focused on the correlation between the exams and litigation against the target of the examination.
