Evidence skills can take years to master. The course will begin with a report from the Honorable Carmen Messano, Chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Rules of Evidence, followed by presentations that address common civil trial evidence issues, with an emphasis on practical solutions to frequently encountered problems, including authentication, hearsay, electronic evidence, demonstrative evidence, and the unique issues that are likely to arise in a remote trial environment. The recent directive of the Administrative Office of the Courts regarding the management of evidence for virtual jury trials will be discussed.
