Florham Park, New Jersey (June 14, 2023) – Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. is pleased to announce Sustainable Jersey has selected Paola Toro to serve on the organization’s Board of Trustees. The Sustainable Jersey Board of Trustees oversees the work of the non-profit organization Sustainable Jersey, including the municipal Sustainable Jersey certification program and Sustainable Jersey for Schools certification program.
Sustainable Jersey is a network and movement of municipalities, schools, and school districts working collectively to create a sustainable New Jersey. Acting with state agencies, non-profit organizations, foundations, academia, and industry, Sustainable Jersey researches the best practices for what communities could and should do to contribute to a sustainable future. The program culminates in a prestigious certification award to municipalities and schools that have documented meeting rigorous standards.
“I’m honored to join the Board of Trustees and leaders from across the state in furthering the organization’s mission to build a better and more sustainable New Jersey for future generations,“ said Toro.
Toro is an Associate in the Firm’s Environmental Law Group. She represents clients nationwide on all aspects of environmental law in state and federal courts, particularly in the areas of CERCLA/Superfund and cost recovery litigation. Paola’s practice includes defending companies in government-initiated litigation, as well as complex private party recovery actions. She also prosecutes cost recovery claims against other responsible parties. In addition, Toro has experience representing clients in matters involving the Spill Act, RCRA, CWA, ISRA, and ESA.
On the transactional side, Paola has experience negotiating and drafting environmental provisions on a wide array of real property transactions. She also routinely counsels clients on regulatory matters, including site remediation, regulatory and compliance counseling, and enforcement defense.
"Paola brings meaningful expertise, experience, and insight that will further strengthen the capability of Sustainable Jersey's Board of Trustees,” said Diana C. Manning, Bressler’s Firm Managing Principal. "I am confident she is perfectly suited to serve this worthwhile organization and its comprehensive sustainability programs for our New Jersey communities."
