Jewish Family Service of MetroWest Spotlights Contributions to Its Domestic Violence Legal Services
Florham Park, NJ (May 15, 2023) – Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. is pleased to announce that Jewish Family Service of MetroWest (JFS) will present the Pro Bono Attorney Award to Emily Bordens for her contributions to the Rachel Coalition's Domestic Violence Legal Services. Bordens will receive the award on May 15, 2023, at the JFS Annual Gala.
Bordens is a long-time volunteer attorney helping survivors obtain orders for protection through the justice system. She is recognized for her dedication to serving JFS clients and advocates for change in the domestic violence community. Each year, the Rachel Coalition, a division of JFS, assists over 1,000 victims of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and individuals living in high-conflict relationships.
"I am honored to receive this recognition, but this work is not about me. It is about saving someone’s life and the lives of their children," said Bordens. "The work of the Rachel Coalition is vital. As an attorney for these victims, I get to help someone in need, work with them to improve their lives, and give them safety. I will continue to do my part to positively impact the lives of our pro bono clients and the victims of domestic abuse."
At Bressler, Bordens concentrates her practice on a full spectrum of labor and employment law and personal injury defense for transportation carriers in New Jersey. She also mentors other Bressler associates who have taken cases on behalf of the Rachel Coalition.
"Rachel Coalition clients have benefitted greatly from Emily's tremendous talent, compassion, and professionalism," said firm managing principal Diana Manning. "It has been wonderful to see her commitment to the organization and to mentoring newer associates to continue with this important work."
Admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, Bordens received her J.D. from New England School of Law and her B.A. from Rutgers College.
Rachel Coalition is a division of Jewish Family Service of MetroWest, and a partnership of nine northern New Jersey organizations working together to provide services and support programs for victims of domestic violence in Essex and Morris County.
