Birmingham, AL (September 2021) – Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. is pleased to announce that the Birmingham Business Journal has recognized attorney Louis Mendez as a NextGen: Law Award winner.
The NextGen: Law Awards recognizes up-and-coming attorneys who already are making their mark on Birmingham’s law scene. The award honors individuals for their contributions to their firms, tangible results in their practice areas and involvement in the community.
“It is an honor to be recognized within the Birmingham legal community,” said Mendez. “I will continue to strive to lead within my firm and promote the diversity and pro bono efforts that are so important to our society.”
Mendez joined the firm in 2014 and quickly became an important asset to Bressler. As an attorney in the firm’s Financial Institutions and Insurance practice groups, he represents companies in all stages of disputes with their customers, from pre-litigation dispute resolution to effective management of discovery and final resolution. He has a leadership role on the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and is an active participant in Bressler’s pro bono efforts. He is listed among Best Lawyers in America® Ones to Watch, and Mid-South Super Lawyers Rising Stars.
“Louis is an extremely talented litigator and wise beyond his years when it comes to strategizing with clients and providing legal advice,” said Josh Jones, Managing Principal of Bressler’s Birmingham office. “I am very proud to be Louis’ law partner and friend. He is a credit to Bressler and the Birmingham legal community.”
Mendez received his J.D. from Georgetown University in 2012. During law school, he interned with a law firm in Mexico City and served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Adalberto Jordan of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, now of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He received his bachelor’s degree from Duke University in 2009.
