Preston Martin, a Bressler Associate and an active volunteer of the Birmingham Bar Volunteer Lawyers Program (BBVLP), recently accepted and closed an Extended Representation case that was highlighted in the BBVLP eBrief newsletter. A client came to the Civil Help Desk because a painter was suing her for payment despite failing to do an adequate paint job. Realizing she needed an attorney in court, Preston pleaded her defense and the Judge dismissed the painter’s claim with prejudice.

"It's great to be able to make such a quick positive impact in someone's life," Preston said. "The BBVLP Help Desk helps clients get immediate relief from bad situations."

Two other Bressler associates, Kayla Schoen, and Katie Wilson joined Preston as volunteers at the BBVLP Civil Help Desk. The BBVLP helps attorneys provide free legal services to low-income citizens unable to afford attorneys who need help with civil legal problems.
