MIAMI, Fla. (October 2021) – Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. is proud to announce that Miami Principal Michael A. Shifrin has been appointed to serve as both Treasurer and Secretary of Affordable Communities of Florida, Inc.
“I am grateful for this opportunity to help create accessible, affordable housing for all families in Florida. Thoughtful real estate development should serve low to moderate income neighborhoods just as much as higher income communities. Through my work with the Affordable Communities of Florida, Inc., I am eager to build a better tomorrow,” said Shifrin.
Affordable Communities of Florida, Inc.’s (“ACF”) purpose is to continue the real estate work of its parent company, Opa-Locka Community Development Corporation, Inc. (“OLCDC”), of which Shifrin is also a board member. OLCDC’s mission is to build a strong ecosystem that supports under-resourced communities in creating an equitable and sustainable economy. ACF fulfills its own mission by managing a portfolio of real estate assets, constructing and rehabilitating affordable housing and community development projects, and enhancing the overall livability of neighborhoods through these activities.
Shifrin is a principal in Bressler’s insurance and cannabis practice groups where he has more than a decade of legal experience defending, prosecuting and winning cases throughout the State of Florida. Shifrin represents clients who range in size from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. As a litigator, he has resolved more than 1,000 lawsuits at the summary judgment and trial levels as well as through mediation and informal negotiations. Shifrin has also been the prevailing party in arbitration proceedings and created favorable case law at the appellate level. Shifrin is passionate about delivering consistent, quality results and making a difference in the community through his volunteer efforts. His life experiences have taught him that anything is possible when you love what you do, believe in yourself, have a positive attitude, and give 100% effort.
