NEW YORK, NY (April 2022)Bressler, Amery & Ross, P.C. is proud to announce that New York attorney Tamar Gongadze has been appointed to the New York City Bar Association’s Foreign and Comparative Law Committee. Her term will last until 2024.

This Committee of the NYCBA addresses comparative, foreign, and transnational legal issues, focusing on both substantive and procedural legal concepts.

“I am grateful for this opportunity to serve on this Committee,” said Gongadze. “I look forward to working alongside this group of brilliant professionals to strengthen and guide the advocacy and activities of this corner of the NYCBA.”

Gongadze is an associate in Bressler’s New York office, focusing her practice in the firm’s Financial Institutions and Commercial Litigation practice groups. She represents clients in securities, commercial and contract dispute matters in state and federal courts as well as in arbitration proceedings. She is knowledgeable in all stages of litigation, including handling fact investigation, complex written discovery and production. Further, Gongadze provides financial regulation and compliance counseling and advice to financial institutions and investment advisors. Also passionate about pro bono work, Gongadze advocates for the rights of LGBTQI individuals and immigrants, and she is an active member of Bressler’s Diversity and Associate Committees.

After earning a J.D. from Tbilisi State University in Republic of Georgia, Gongadze worked at the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Georgia where she represented the government in international courts and tribunals. She was a member of the Georgian legal team in two inter-state cases brought by Georgia against the Russian Federation in the European Court of Human Rights and one inter-state matter brought in the International Court of Justice.
