Alabama Managing Principal Josh Jones was quoted in a Birmingham Business Journal article titled Birmingham litigators talk Covid courtroom battles. The article discusses the recent uptick in legal battles sparked by the pandemic, ranging from workplace litigation to PPP lending disputes.
When asked what types of COVID-related litigation Bressler has handled lately, Josh replied, "One of the unforeseen effects of the pandemic was the significant increase in day trading by people stuck at home. A number of our brokerage firm clients saw significant increases in accounts being opened and related trading activity. We are currently litigating a number of cases relating to issues arising out of this growth, including defending claims relating to use of margin, trading platform concerns and purported losses in ‘meme stocks.’”
