NAVIGATING THROUGH COVID-19

The world is grappling with an issue of enormous scale and human impact, and our hearts go out to all who have been affected by the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

At Bressler, we are prioritizing two things: the health and well-being of our employees and clients, while also providing guidance on risk management measures and practical steps for clients to help manage ongoing operations. We are listening to recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) as we strive to help protect our clients and our team members. Through that lens, we will continue to make decisions with vigilance and courage informed by the latest science-based information and guided by our mission, values and efforts to continue to raise the bar.

BUSINESS CONTINUITY

As COVID-19 continues to impact the global community, Bressler is taking steps to ensure business continuity for all our clients.  We share the concern that many in our communities are experiencing surrounding the coronavirus and are committed to being responsive to the needs of our clients as the situation evolves.

We are continuously monitoring the COVID-19 situation, keeping abreast of guidance from governmental authorities, medical professionals and reliable news media. Based on information from all of these sources, we have developed a comprehensive business continuity plan specific to coronavirus, in an effort to protect our team, while continuing to provide the highest quality legal services to our clients.

We will review our plan daily to ensure we are taking appropriate action in this fast-changing environment. As we navigate this dynamic situation community-by-community and office-by-office, we will still remain fully operational. We have the proper technology in place to allow our employees to access our systems remotely, should it be necessary. We are committed to maintaining our business operations and ensuring our clients continue to receive the highest quality service without disruption.

GUIDELINES AND RESOURCES

We ask that everyone at Bressler observe the CDC’s guidance in helping to protect yourself and others from the COVID-19 virus and other transmittable illnesses. We are giving our team members facts about COVID-19 and reminding them to follow simple, but effective steps to keep them safe such as frequent hand washing. We are disinfecting our facilities and equipment as appropriate. And as always, we are encouraging our team members to take any signs of illness seriously and seek medical attention as needed.

As additional measures of caution, while we evaluate the situation, our leadership team has also taken the steps of:

  • Prohibiting non-essential in-person business meetings at one of our offices or otherwise;
  • Prohibiting travel between other offices, floors and other businesses;
  • Minimizing non-business travel to areas known to be affected with COVID-19;
  • Reminding all personnel to not come into the office(s) (or leave home except to obtain medical care) if they are feeling unwell or believe they have been exposed to someone confirmed to be infected with coronavirus;
  • Cleaning all common touch-points several times a day;
  • Increasing our firm’s technology capacity to accommodate greater numbers of remote employee access.

We are constantly assessing the situation and will keep you apprised as our plans evolve.  Meanwhile, we are committed to maintaining our business operations and ensuring you and your clients continue to receive the highest quality service without disruptions. Again, the health and safety of our clients, employees, and partners is our top priority.

WHAT’S NEXT? – BRESSLER'S COVID-19 TASK FORCE

Bressler continues to monitor the outbreak and provide legal guidance for our clients' businesses. In response to the coronavirus, we have taken additional measures and assembled a crisis-response task force to provide around-the-clock assistance to our clients and address a myriad client concerns in a time of high uncertainty. As business leaders make decisions affecting customers, employees and communities, our task force aims to provide holistic, creative, strategic and pro-active guidance to clients on immediate and forward planning needs.

This site is being continuously updated to reflect the most current and relevant information. The latest situation summary updates are available on CDC’s COVID-19 webpage. For more information on COVID-19, please also see:

The Task Force has established contact persons to help monitor the situation, disseminate information and direct clients to the firm attorney best positioned to address client-specific legal needs in relation to the impact of COVID-19 on workplaces, business operations and other business interests. These are unprecedented times, and your safety and health continue to be our priority. Our firm continues to closely monitor the situation and we hope our clients, family, employees, partners and coworkers remain healthy and safe.
