Overview

Christie Shambach is a Principal in the firm’s Corporate & Commercial Transactions practice group, where she focuses on investment and fund formation. As a strategic thinker and detailed practitioner, Christie balances client objectives and pragmatic counsel to guide and support her clients’ visions.

With over a decade of experience, Christie has represented private businesses, owners, lenders, and investors in various areas, including corporate structuring, business transactions, leasing, financing, and mergers and acquisitions. She is well-versed in navigating federal and state regulations affecting capital markets, investors, and advisers, including the Securities Act and Investment Advisers Act. From startups navigating their first convertible round through multiple series of preferred equity, Christie enjoys advising companies raising capital, including cap table and liquidation modeling, navigating the fundraising process, and negotiating key issues.

On the investor side, Christie represents angel investors, special purpose vehicles (SPVs), as well as emerging and established investment funds and their managers, through the process of formation, capital deployment, and navigating limited partner and regulatory issues. She combines a practical yet detail-oriented approach that aligns clients' large-scale business goals and risk appetite with the careful attention required to safeguard their interests.

Prior to joining Bressler, Christie was co-founder of a boutique law firm that focused on investment and fund formation for a select group of clients. This experience deepened her appreciation for the challenges business owners face, the impact lawyers can have on those challenges, and the need for efficiency and transparency in legal advice and billing.

Christie is licensed to practice law in Texas, Virginia, and Maryland. She earned her J.D. from Regent University School of Law on a full merit scholarship, where she graduated in the top 5% of her class and was the managing editor of the Regent University Law Review. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Messiah University with a degree in economics and a minor in mathematics.
